I am organizing a fundraiser for Andy Nevin who was killed by a hit and run driver on Leitrim Road
last month on June 28th. He leaves behind two young sons Bryce and Jacob, who are very much in
need of any financial help the community can offer. We are holding a fundraiser for the boys on
Sunday, August 23rd at Moose McGuire’s Pub/Restaurant on McCarthy Road in Ottawa. Seven
professional bands have stepped forward, offering to perform at the event, which will run from
2 p.m. to 11 p.m., on that day. Long & McQuade are providing a PA system and a sound board as well
as other equipment for the event. However, the problem I am having is finding a good Sound
Technician to operate the board for the bands on that day and a Stage Manager. Since I am trying to
raise as much money as possible for Andy’s boys, there isn’t a lot of money to pay for this service,
however, all of your food and beer/drinks would be on us and I could give you $50 towards your
travelling expenses.
