My Dayhome, located in the park-filled community of Walden is here to provide child care services & cooking lessons for families in Lake Chaparral, Cranston, Auburn Bay, Legacy, Heritage Heights, Somerset, Bridlewood, Silverado, Evergreen plus residents of Okotoks driving into Calgary. I currently have only one full time spot OR one specific part time spot available within my Dayhome. My hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM with weekend & evening care also available. I am able to transport kids to the Somerset or RDL school. I have chosen this career because I love working with children and I am committed to offering families the support of available, affordable, safe, reliable, high quality child care for their children, that allows them the peace of mind they require to go to work and be worry‑free during their working day. Parents are entitled to be treated with respect and be given the opportunity for feedback through continuous communication. Child care is my profession and I have been working with all ages of children for about eighteen years including three years of Day Care experience. I have operated my own Dayhome for over fourteen years and possess a Level 1 in Early Childhood Care and Education. I have obtained my First Aid and child/infant CPR certificate which I renew every four years. I have my police clearance and can give both personal and business references upon request.
I have created an enjoyable atmosphere that is welcoming and comfortable for both the kids i care for and their families. I have an invite only Facebook page where with your permission, I will upload pictures daily of the children partaking in cooking classes as well as all other Dayhome activities. My Dayhome has a seperate entrance which is decorated with your child's artwork and contains a locker for each child attending. On display for parents is a monthly newsletter complete with a fun "Dates to Remember" section that lists all of the themed activities for the month. There is the Little Chefs Academy weekly recipe guide plus a menu board that describes what foods our in house chef will be serving that day as the Dayhome offers well balanced meals for breakfast and lunch plus a snack later in the afternoon, all made with fresh and nutritious ingredients. My Dayhome isn't just situated in a basement or one room because the kids attending my Dayhome have access to my entire child proofed home. When we are spending time in the basement, there are two very large windows for natural light, a separate entrance with direct access to outside and CO2 monitors throughout the house. I have a daily program that meets the needs of all the children being cared for. We have free imagination play using age-appropriate toys and other fun activities that are motivated to work on younger children's small motor skills such as circle time, stories, singing songs, dancing, make-believe dress-up, puppets shows plus a lot of fun arts & crafts and outdoor play whenever our cities weather permits.
I believe that every child deserves a safe, warm and caring environment (a place where children want to be), in which to grow and develop to their maximum potential so in addition to providing you with quality child care, beginning at the age of two your child will participate in my Little Chefs Academy program which offers cooking classes to children in a safe environment that encourages discovery and creativity. While learning food preparation skills as the main ingredient at Little chefs academy, each recipe adds a heap of kitchen safety (only thoroughly trained children will be using the stove/oven), a scoop of etiquette, a handful of table manners, a pinch of menu planning and laughter to taste. I have always believed cooking with your kid is the best way to teach principles of good nutrition and encourage healthy eating habits for life. Children are more likely to try new foods when they have a hand in prepping them and you will notice as your child is exposed to new ingredients, their acceptance of new foods will expand, setting them on a path to be "good eaters" for life. Thank you so much for considering my Dayhome experience, I look forward to hearing from you as there is more information that needs to be exchanged between us. Please TEXT or EMAIL me with your contact info and child care needs, then i will get back to you as soon as i am able. I hope you have a great day and I wish you the best of luck with your child care search.
