Would you like to get the most from your aquarium plants? Toss the epoxied neon pink pet store gravel for a nutrient rich substrate that will help to promote healthy plant growth. Avoid crazy priced pet store gravels! I'll provide advice on this method from putting the aquarium together to standard aquarium maintenance. Fish/shrimp/critter safe!


Information about substrates, please read:

- The typical pet store gravel is painted rock most often coated in plastic and is inert this does nothing for your planted tank
- Nutrient substrates are very specific in which they provide nutrients for a planted tank
- Nutrient substrates will never be the same cost at department store/pet store’s standard painted rock gravel
- At a pet store there is a large price difference between standard gravel and nutrient substrates because of the unique properties of nutrient substrates
- An aquarium gravel package that states "All Natural" or the similar does not mean it is a nutrient gravel, they are two very different items. "All Natural" only means it isn't painted or coated in plastic.

- My nutrient substrate will be more expensive than pet store painted gravel however my nutrient substrate will give nutrient to your plants but again it is much less expensive that pet stores nutrient substrates
- My nutrient substrate is a fraction of the cost of pet store nutrient gravels, roughly 60% off store prices of a similar pet store product
- My nutrient substrate is new and never been used
- This nutrient substrate will not decompose and turn into mush
- It will not buffer the water to spike values such as ammonia which is harmful to fish

Price is dependent upon quantity of nutrient substrate needed. Provide your aquarium's length and width and I'll provide a nutrient substrate which can make your plants thrive.
